Here we are in 1997 looking north along Route 57
at the new gas station and looking also at where
Ada Croskey Daum Levengood lived in the upstairs apartment
of this brick building!
While living in North Canton, Ohio, between Nov. 1979, to June 1983,
I would rotate weekends visiting my relatives
(My grandmother, Delphia Croskey Hughes; my grand
Aunt Ada; and my grandfather, Leo G. Lorson)
Some weekends, I would manage to visit all of them!
I also re-painted Aunt Ada's kitchen cabinets! I wonder if those
cabinets are still the colors I painted them
In 1983, Ada was diagnosed with cancer
and to help her ease the summer days, I used my Sears Credit Card
to help her purchase an air conditioner for the middle window!
Originally, I bought a small unit, but since it was not cooling
the room, I replaced it with a larger one! It cost more, and I
did not receive the rest of the money for the a/c! My father
was also diagnosed with cancer. When she was admitted to the
hospital, I came back to claim the a/c! Another story about the
Air Conditioner Later!
Here is a closer look!
My father also was diagnosed with cancer in June 1983, so
I then, moved back to Florida,
I, therefore, returned to work with Superior Electronics
to aid the business for my ailing father!
Also, note, that Smucker's Jellies, Jams, Preserves, and Candies
are manufactured in Orrville, Ohio.
To the right and across the street is the Truck Entrance
to the Smuckers' Plant in Orrville, Ohio!
